He was the dude of the college. Whether it was his looks or the way he spoke to women; whether it was his personality or the aura he exhibited, there was something about him which attracted women of all kinds. There were hundreds who tried for just one chance to get to talk to him. There were others who wanted to spend some time with him over
coffee. And there were some who even went to the extent of wanting to touch him just to know if he was for real. It wasn’t always like this.

He had come as a shy and introvert guy who never even spoke to women let alone befriend them or have a girlfriend. His life revolved around studies, classes, assignments and the likes. But when he faced rejection for the first time in life, he realized that he had not bothered about creating a personality. He didn’t have a sense of style or a persona that people craved for. He didn’t know how to talk properly to anyone let alone his classmates. And so he revamped himself completely so much so that the girls began to go weak in their knees waiting to see him everyday.

And he loved every bit of the attention he got. If today it was one girl, tomorrow it was another. He had spoken to so many women and dated quite a few among them. Relationships with the most interesting ones lasted for a few months while some lasted for days. There were so many women in his life that he forgot their names or what they spoke about. There were times when he would say the same mushy things to many of them without even taking notice.

He had became a sort of casanova who didn’t care who he dated or who he spoke to. And the same had become of the rest of his life as well. Earlier, he was very careful in not hurting friends. But now he knew that to succeed in life, one had to make compromises even if it was leaving friends or loved ones. Sometimes he forgot promises made to loved ones while at other times he forgot how his friends helped him in their earlier times. He had forgotten that love and friendship was also important in his search for success and money.

But then he didn’t bother to remember because he had faced rejection! And rejection was something he couldn’t take..

Deserted at the altar..

Since the time a girl is small, she dreams about her wedding day. I always expected my man to come on a horse as my knight in shining armour and take me away into his world bringing me all the happiness and peace. Though that was a bit too much to expect, I still wanted to be loved, to be happy and to have someone in my life who could pamper my wants and desires.

We had met in the most bizarre of circumstances on a flight to Lucknow. He was traveling for a business meeting while I was on my regular job as a Lead Flight Attendant. Somehow we began talking, exchanged numbers and the rest is history. Though our jobs didn’t allow us to meet that often, we always made it a point to stay in touch in any way possible; sometimes through ‘Whatsapp’ and other times through ‘Skype. In just over a year, we had grown so fond of each other that all our talks revolved around love, life, ‘how I would settle with his family’ and the likes. Though it seemed a tad too fast, I was loving every bit of it. He truly loved and pampered me unlike the earlier guys in my life who were either too scared to commit or just didn’t want things to go to the next step.

Why do we love to argue?

Who doesn’t love to argue? (Me included :) ) Whether its arguing needlessly or arguing to defend your point, arguments are the essence of any discussion. There are some who just keep arguing all the time without any rhyme or reason. They need a reason to just begin themselves. And when they do, they never stop. They just keep arguing for the sake of arguing. While there are others who prefer to avoid arguments outright. Whenever any sort of discussion reaches such a situation, these people tend to leave it lest it may reach a level where verbal and physical fights may result. But why do we argue at all?

All of us have a set of beliefs, a set of values, principles, understanding of certain theories etc. If we observe that a particular thing is out of place or not happening according to our beliefs, values, culture etc. we tend to ask questions. And when it doesn’t match with the other party, arguments begin. When we have a set thinking and believe in certain probable truths, we never accept the other party’s comments or inputs which maybe different from ours. We tend to believe that our thinking is the universal truth. A lot of it has to do with the refusal to change preconceived notions. And then we go all out to show that we are RIGHT!

Best Friends to Office Colleagues – Quite an arduous journey!

As someone has rightly said the world is not filled with black or white people. Instead everyone has some grey shades to his / her personality. But in my life interestingly till a couple of years back I had mostly met people who must be 70-80% white or probably I presumed so to say. But over the last few years things seem to have changed.

Taking one for granted, use and throw friendships, being friends for getting some work done, having excuses just to not meet – all this and more are becoming pretty common in today’s world. But then people would say that this existed all the time. There are all kinds of people on this planet some good some not so good and some horribly bad. You can’t make everyone really good, can you?
