Innocence lost in translation!

She was sweet and cute. She seemed happy all the time. It’s always said that kids have a smiling face and bring cheer to everyone around them. Since the time she was a little girl, she kept everyone occupied. Whether it was her parents or her cousins, everyone laughed and enjoyed being around with her.

Sometimes she went and cut the curtains with a pair of scissors or at other times she hid the shoes of people just so that they go about frantically searching for them. Naughtiness and her went hand in hand. Though it was a task for everyone to handle her naughty antics, they still loved to see the smile on her cute little face. It was like everyone wanted to do something just to see her happy.

We meet different kinds of people in life. Some of them are awesome. They shape our world, our lives, our thinking, everything about them is just amazing. And we end up giving them the maximum importance. But then some are not so awesome but still good enough to define our lives, careers and thoughts. And finally there are those who irritate us, trouble us, frustrate us and stress us out. They don’t deserve our attention, our love or either our care. But despite all the problems they cause in our lives, we end up giving them a lot of importance. Why is that? Do they really deserve it?

The Idea

The story is about two individuals who are as different as chalk and cheese. It’s the story of their love transcending years and continents. If he is quiet, calm and reserved, she is bubbly, cheerful and vivacious. If he rarely talks to people, she talks so much to anyone and everyone that she could create a racket. He’s a suave, young and dynamic working man of today. But his life revolves around work. There’s something he wants to forget. There’s something which is bothering him which he wants to escape from. So he keeps himself as busy as he can. There is a strong desire to earn as much as he can in the least possible time.

Why is it so easy to be sad but so hard to be happy?

Happiness and Sadness are two emotions which define one’s life. They are the emotions which walk hand in hand with each other. They are states of the mind which arrive at different intervals in life. If either of them would disappear, life would be poorer without them. At times, there are extended periods of happiness while at others there are extended periods of sadness. But the irony is such that when there are extended periods of sadness, we all complain. But in case of extended periods of happiness, no one thinks one bit that sadness could be lurking anywhere around the corner.

Is life only about doing what benefits us?

One of the most important factors in every task we do, involves understanding the benefit that doing the task gives us. Obviously, why would we want to do something which may not help us in our personal or professional lives? As someone has said, “First think of yourself before thinking of others.” Why waste one’s time in doing something which may not even have a personal benefit? But is life only all about the benefits we earn? Read on!

Benefits are a very important part of any task we undertake whether its as simple as deciding to take a car to work rather than expending all our energy walking all the way or as complicated as learning some special softwares to help us go higher up the ladder in our organization. Whenever we are taking up a task, the first thing we ask is, “How will it help us?” That’s how it should be. Why would we want to do something which may not at all be useful in our present or our future? These benefits will help us realize our future goals, aspirations and dreams.

The feeling of first love is bliss. It is the best thing that can happen to anyone. One can never forget his / her first love. First love makes you go weak in the knees. Guest Post: When should you quit your job?

With looming stories of unemployment and a faltering economy, quitting your job is likely the last thing we expect to hear about in today’s society. But of course, it happens. People leave their jobs everyday; even when times are tough and the economy is trashed. Sometimes the right choice for your happiness and your professional future may be to find a new job. While the choice is never easy, there are always signs and symptoms that crop up to indicate it might be quittin’ time. Leaving your job should be done in a strategic and careful manner. Don’t act rashly. Explore your reasons for wanting to leave. Make sure that you are truly unhappy or ready to move on before you make any permanent choices. Look for these three things as strong signs that it might be time to find a new career path.

Do we ever live for ourselves?

We live to please our parents. We live to please our extended families. We live to please our partners. We live to please our bosses. We live to please our friends and colleagues. But do we ever really live to please ourselves? Do we try to do what makes us feel good? Do we try to keep ourselves happy? Do we try to actually LIVE a life?

From the time we are small, we are taught to listen to our parents. We eat what they say. We go to the school which they select for us. We go to the tuitions which they consider as best. Obviously we listen to them like obedient children because they would know the best considering their age and experience. But then, slowly but surely we start doing things just to keep them happy. We avoid any situation which would give them a bad impression about us. We also avoid doing anything which may give them a bad name in the society. Obviously there are many of us who start living dual lives where on one side we please our parents but on the other we fool them by partying hard and enjoying as if there is no tomorrow. But that’s beyond the point of this post.

Haagen Dazs Icecream: Have it at least once before you die!

There are icecreams like Baskin Robbins, Kwality Walls, Mcdonalds McSwirls, Unilever, Cold Stone Creamery (ones I have eaten till date) and then there is Haagen Dazs. While the other icecreams mentioned are all about having something cold or tasting a good dessert, Haagen Dazs with its exquisite products and fantastic ambience creates a killer mix of delight, a never before urge to have something sweet and pure pleasure. I haven’t had any icecreams which creates such feelings ever!
